I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

My wonderful husband Gary passed away on Feb 22nd, just 2 weeks after we had started to settle in to our new home. He was the kindest, gentlest, most intelligent man I've ever known and I miss him dearly. I will attempt to get my life, interests, and collections back in order sometime, but it's not going to happen just yet.

Thank you all so much - your kind words mean an awful lot to me right now. Gary was the best friend I could ever hope for - supportive, loving, thoughtful, generous, funny - I couldn't have asked for a better husband. It helps to know that others understand. Even though you don't know me, it does help to hear from each of you. Thank you.

My heart sends your heart strength. Let your tears flow and it will flush the sorrow from your soul, only to leave the love you will forever have for your husband Gary. Your eyes will always enjoy the scenes of your life together. Although he is not physically with you, his love is forever within you. You will sometimes feel his presence, and when you do, smile at the gift of loving him so much, his presence can still be felt. May the sun shine in your window today and grant your heart peace. I may not know you, but know the loss of many persons long the road of my life. Each loss is different and yet the same. I pray you walk the road of life strong, and live it well, Gary would insist on this. Best wishes, Linda

So sad to hear you have lost your dear husband. I hope that sorting through your collections will help to keep him by your side for the days and years ahead.

Hi Colleen,
I just joined and saw your post.
I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my first husband when we were only 25, after 6 years of marriage. Yes, we were high school sweethearts! :) But, since that tragedy, many blessings have come my way.
Be patient with yourself. It will take awhile. My thought and prayers are with you.
Join me on facebook if you're there. It's a fun place for friends and support.
Take care, be strong and may God bless you and comfort you.
