Hi, I just joined this site yesterday as part of my process to trying to evaluate "How to Effectively" market online. I just finished reading your blog and it was helpful. I have only been selling online for a little past 6 months via Etsy and chose them because of the pay as you go and because it is possible ot research sales.

I am selling vintage at the time and am checking out the possibility of Artfire. I am also impressed that the founders have business training and seem to place an emphasis on advertising. I am leery of the possibility of the same attitudes toward vintage in the future, but will continue to see how many $7.00 sloots are open. I am not thrilled with their front page because it resembles Etsy and I am not impressed with the layout there.

I'm still at a loss as to how to go about assessing what works and what doesn't. i have begun the process of setting up shop on Bonanzle. You can set up for free and there is a resonable commission rate after the sale. The site is styled a bit after Ebay with no restrictions placed upon product lines. ( aside from illegal and immoral) .There are options to pay either a $10.00 or $20 ish monthly fee which gets the seller certain perks.

Being very new to ecommerce I am still figurung out the ins and outs of Bonanzle, but there seems to be alot of flexibility in what and how you choose to do to operate a business. I really like the design and practicality factors behind the site's design. Their front page fits within your computer screen. This impresses me because there is no scrolling involved to understand this critical page.

The site has a nice look to it and the search appears to be very functional. I also like the open product policy. I feel that on some level Etys tacitly encourages the continual dischord between their catagories and that IS NOT GOOD for business.
