Sorry Wallace...if it makes you feel better, I was in a shop today and the owner had a pile of Life Magazines for sale nicely packaged in cellophane bags...he wanted $2.00 a piece...... As I mentioned in my earlier post...some Life magazines with special covers or content do yield more money...but the rest are simply too common. Dianne

Excuse me, I was checking the prices online at time magazine.com. The average price was 29.99 per copy. Some were 49.99, up to 179.99 for some of the marilyn monroe issues. I was just going by that information. I thought they were worth at least 18.00 dollars a piece. I am very dissapointed since I have had this collection for almost 50 years. w.whitten

I see no one has posted a reply so I will.......Life magazines are very common and are hard to sell unless there is something very special about them "Beatles", "Peter Max" etc. For Life magazines from the 1960s.. which are ordinary......be happy if someone comes along and offers you a lot price closer to $1.00 a piece. At least that is my experience.....now I should say that there may be advertisements in there i.e.Coca Cola etc. that are more valuable than the whole magazine. In this case...you might want to pull apart these magazines and sell the advertisements. Here I would suggest buying the proper mounting card boards and plastic bags to present your vintage advertisements nicely.

Now having said all that........I have seen stores who sell old paper and collectibles sell magazines of all kinds for more money than I have stated. But in my opinion there is just so many Life Magazines around that you can't get much for them.

How did you derive the $700.00 figure? Was that a typo?
