One of the most overlooked and least understood clues in establishing the date and authenticity of older and antique furniture is the story that screws can tell about the history of a piece.

Charles, you must be quite a sight when you go antiquing in your operating room head cover!
Watch out that someone doesn't mistake you for a doctor should there be an emergency in the shopping facility where you find yourself so dressed. You might just have to operate :)
oops, sorry....I'm a page behind everyone :)
Got it, thank you. Very good idea. I know of at least two people I can think of who in their quest for antiques contracted serious health problems. One lovely lady simply wiped perspiration off her face while antiques hunting in some dusty barn and caught a very bad dermatitis infection. After multiple derma-abrasions and surgeries her face was somewhat restored but it took years and she was no longer as beautiful as she once had been. Another example contracted a chest infection from inhaling something in an antiques warehouse--was hospitalized for a year, lost a very lucrative high-end job over it and could not come back to the same income level again.
At least 2 people spelled it wrong, doesn't matter who. Using a respirator is a good idea and, it appears, there was some confusion about what it was so, I thought including the correct spelling might help those who would need to look it up.
Hi Diane, I am actually planning on adding a piece or two here as I have a little extra time on my hands for the remainder of this month.

Update: Better link to series Selling On The Net.
This series was also published on All Info-About, another information site. The individual articles appear to be properly archived and linked there:
Thanks, Charles. Didn't know that--guess I never needed one. What were you doing when you used one --- dumpster-diving?
