serial # is 13572123  which puts year of issue. 1874

this machine works.. and is in good condition.. I called singer. they said they

didnt really know. but would guess it was a early model of a 221.. I took it to my

local sewing repair shop.. he said he has never in 54 yrs of business seen a 221 this old.. or this model ever.. it is a chain stitch.. electric. with a motor and foot pedal.

would love thoughts on it.. also any ideas on pricing it would be great also

Hi Nancy - That is not a 221, it looks more like a class 24 Singer --- you can see more info here:

This is similar to the model 20, but yours looks more like one of the class 24 models.

Thanks for the reply, i finally reached someone else at singer today that relooked up the serial number and said it isa new family machine. Made i oct 30,1879. But no idea how to find a valu for something so rare and working. Any ideas?
