A bit of rust in a vintage cottage can go a long way in adding charm to a space. Just the right rusted door knob on the a table, old rusty locket on the vanity, a weathered rod iron chair on the porch or rusted gate in the foyer makes the space come alive with vintage nostalgia.

How have you used rusty objects to give a room a feel of going back in time?

For exterior decor...using a bit of rust, I love this old vintage metal letter!

Vintage Cottage decor MUST include a bit of rust! These old buckets brought to life with beautiful spring flowers definitely does the trick...

Now that Spring is inching closer and closer, let's talk "a bit of rust" on the Cottage porch...or garden. It really adds character, you know? How do YOU utilize a bit of rust?

Nothing like a rusty garden gate.

Check out this old galvanized burner (with a bit of rust) up-cycled into a cool end table by Flea Market Trixie. Even has a vintage ceramic vase gracing it now with old books to boot.

So...how would you utilize this "bit of rust" in your vintage cottage?

A bit of rust...outside the vintage cottage!! My own 'chippy' metal furniture. Love.
