A Touch of Vintage Class – Achieve that perfect vintage lookExcerpt from lovely blog
Choose an era and stick to it
While this dress is gorgeous, I must admit that I am very confused. Where were such wedding dresses worn in the 1920s and 1930s? All wedding pics that I have ever seen of that era showed brides in dresses that were much more "prim and proper". Probably most of the pics that I have seen originated in New England. Was New England that far behind the times? In what parts of the world (or possibly in what social class) did brides wear this sort of wedding dress in that era?
Betty is the key to understanding this the word inspired?
Thank you. I thought that maybe that much skin was shown in NY or Paris. As you noted that matching hair style with dress is important, for me there is discontinuity with showing as much skin in a formal 1920-30's style wedding. As I said, I find the dress gorgeous, I guess that inspiration is different for each of us. :-) Happy Holidays!
