Victorian Bar Quilt Originally posted by Luv 2 Luv Antiques
I purchased this online from a lady that was selling quite a few on ebay, a few years ago. I thought I'd post them again for newer members of our group. She called this a Victorian Bar Quilt, but as a quilt is dated from the last fabric added to it, this is a 1930's quilt. It needed repair over the years, as it was used, and luved! The last fabrics date to the 1930's. Sharon, a member of this group, and told me about dating a quilt.
I know mint quilts are worth more in monetary value, but a quilt that has been used and luved over the years, means so much more to me! It has history that we can only guess at!
Since that time, I have purchase 3 vintage / antique fabric collectors books, that are so handy to identify the age of a quilt!
Notice the print of a flour company, from an old feedsack material, that is on the back of this quilt. I think that is the coolest thing! Take care, Diane :O)
