Each one was labeled in Japanese and English. Gold (missing) Pink, White, Unusual type of growth and shape. (One looks kind of Silver/Gray). The shells represent growth period one month to three years. Such a shame to break this up.

I had my heart broken a bit when I saw this glass broken and the pearl that was labeled "Gold" removed. I have no idea value of the rest of the pearls or the display in a whole or whats involved in replacing the single pear that is missing. Does anyone know anything about this type of thing?

I bought a very nice cherry netsuke display case years ago, before I evefr even heard of Netsuke. I display thimbles and salt shakers in it mostly. When I was told what it was I set out to buy Netsuke pieces to fill it up as they intrigued me. Then I heard there was alot of fake ones out there. I didn't think I knew enough about them to be able to tell the difference. I didn't want to spend foolishly so after only buying three I stopped buying. These two looked signed. Maybe you can tell me something more about these two? ( I placed them in a candle to try and position better for picture..looks a little gross!) I'll try to start a discussion on Netsuke and add more pictures there. Thanks Everyone, Greg....Oralei http://iantiqueonline.ning.com/photo/albums/netsuke-1
