Hankies for weddings

Hi,  my daughter was married in September, 2011 in Las Vegas (which was so much fun - I love destination weddings).  My mother died in July 2011 and it was sad that she wasn't there but I made sure that she was there in spirit.  I took 4 of my mom's beautiful vintage hankies with me to Las Vegas.  I gave one to my daughter, one to her mother-in-law to be and one to her stepmother and I had one.  Before my mother died I asked her if it would be okay if I gave my daughter - her grand-daughter - the engagement ring that my dad proposed with in 1940.  My mother said that this would be lovely.  This was my daughter's "something old".  

I still have some of her hankies and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for using hankies in a shadow box.  In one of her books I found some dried pressed flowers and thought about incorporating these into a shadow box - what do you think about this?

I also have a lot of vintage doilies and will be using a couple of these in a shadow box.  My mom was an excellent athlete in her day and her favorite sport was swimming - something she continued to do until about 2 years before she died.  I found two swimming medals that she was awarded in 1932 and I am going to affix the medals to the vintage doilies for the shadow box. 

I look forward to hearing about any ideas you may have to share for the hankies. They are very beautiful and it's a shame to not use them or see them.  Thanks!

I would say to be careful that if the dried flowers touch the hankies they don't get discolored.  Actually, I don't think it is a good idea because the hankies are going to get discolored anyway being in a shadow box.
