I'm back from Santa Ana, in Southern California.  Oh, my there were so many yard sales.  My friends and I started at 7 a.m. and didn't stop our treasure hunting till after 2 in the afternoon.  It was a blast.  I did get some treasures, but a few sales, didn't want to deal on their prices.  My best deal is a vintage oil lamp holder that I bought for $4.  And my Very best deal was at the Goodwill on the way back to Bakersfield.  I bought a Fenton Dusty Rose with teal edge pitcher and bowl, made only in 1988.  I bought it for $53.  It's in perfect condition.  It's worth between $180. & $200.  I am thrilled with it.  I wish my photo transfer was working so I can download a photo of it.  Oh, and their yard sales are 4 times a year, not once a year like I previously said.

The city of Santa Ana, California, can only hold 1 yard sale weekend a year.  It's this weekend Sept. 3 & 4.  I'm going for the first time.  I hope I find some treasures!   And at good prices.  Has anybody else been to these yard sale?  And any suggestions on the hunt?

I love thrift store shopping and California has wonderful thrift stores.  I went to Santa Maira & Grover City, yesterday and hit 15 thrift stores.  Had a ball.  Here's a photo of my of finds.  We have over 12 thrift stores in Bakersfield.  But it was nice to leave the valley for the day.
