The Long Street Antique Arcade in Cape Town

Hi guys,

I have had the pleasure of visiting a wonderful antique mall in Cape Town, South Africa, called the Long Street Antique Arcade.  It is located on 127 Long Street (easy to find in other words!) and they do everything from jewellery to clothes and art.  I have written about it in a previous post on my blog Decades of Elegance: Where the Prettiest Antiques go in Cape Town and there is a link to the Long Street Arcade-website in the post.

Lovely pieces at Joy's Collectables

I love checking out vintage and antiques in different parts of the world, and seeing how the styles change - but also how pieces move around the world.  I have found a lot of Swedish designs in Cape Town, US pieces in the UK, South Africa jewellery in London etc.  

It would be very interesting to see a map of a few antique pieces' travels across the world!

Hi yes Cape Town is a great place - we also have lots of german/dutch and chinese/japanese pieces as well as indian, then still all out tribal stuff but not much USA sadly - nice you were able to visit - perhaps JHB one day ?

Oh yes Kath, I would love to check out some antiques in JHB as well!  We do pop by there once a year or so, so will definitely look into it next time.  The pieces you mentioned sounds so exotic!
