The first pic is Bakelite, the second is AB, the third looks like a blueberry pie with lattice crust. The gold look like pure gold. Next one has a very natural look like stacked pebbles. The pair are Bakelite, and the white one reminds me of 1940s.

I am not sure it should be called button collecting. It is more like and addiction. lol Once you start, it just goes on and on. There are so many wonderful buttons, even what you could almost call 'ugly' buttons that are out there waiting for us to pick up and look at, and just have to have, because they are different. If only they could talk, I am sure there would be some tales to be told. Have thousands of them and some of the old cut steel buttons just boggle my mind when I think of how they were made in the first place. Good site and thank you for staring it

I love sorting vintage buttons by color. It is an obsession with me! There is nothing more relaxing than laying on the floor in front of the fireplace sorting my buttons.

I recently (well a few months ago) purchased a huge bag of buttons and have yet to look through them. I also found some vintage button covers which are really neat. Not sure what I will do with them.

I have been collecting buttons for years, my grandma got me intrested. I used to take her button can and sit on the floor and dump the can out and look at them . I always made sure I got everyone back in the can. Now I got alot of her old buttons

I'm glad someone has started this group. I have a ton of buttons but don't know anything about which are truly old, valuable. Hope some people here will know more than I do. Here is a link to the buttons I have listed.

I ador vintage buttons.. I don't have much luck around here finding any, as they are always snatched up before i get to them.. I do have some great mother of pearl bttons and a few others i love.. Great group to start..
