I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

Good Morning All,

Today I've picked up, for a dime, a clear Pyrex lid #B-NN 683.C.  It is shaped like a pie plate with tabs, but it also has a ridge to hold it in place.  It is 7 7/8" in diameter.  The markings are on the tabs.

Does anyone know what bottom this goes to?

I got a chance to look for this piece in my Pyrex books (yes, the Rogove Steinhauer Pyrex book too), and this could be a utility lid (most likely), a cake dish, or an au gratin dish (the tabs look slightly different).

Any further information is most appreciated!
I found the answer with the help of a Flickr member at PyrexLove. It is definately an utility lid. It is pictured in a 1945 ad on page 47 of Barbara's Pyrex book.
