Over time, I've hosted many tea parties and taught my granddaughter the joys. But, for the past three years, I've hosted a sort of end-of-summer-back-to-school tea party for my friend, Michaela, who is going into the 8th grade this year. She invites her own friends and each year has a different twist. This year, she invited one special friend and it was just lovely. Even though it turned out to be a beautiful summer day, I staged it on the back porch in case the afternoon rains came. After tea, we sat outside on the old metal glider and lawn chairs and leisurely visited.

I used my cream color Royal Doulton "Heather" china with blue napkins and tablecloth. One of my favorite things to do...host a tea party.

This is Michaela on the left.

That looks like so much fun, Ellene!  What a great tradition to keep.   It certainly helps to bridge the "Generation Gap" and to keep lovely, old traditions alive!

I think next year, we are going to invite even younger girls for these girls to mentor. They liked the idea.

Awesome! Looks like fun gals!

The girls look delighted to be treated to their special Back to School tea party.  Lovely!!

Thanks, Donna! Just realized I could find more photos of tea parties that I've had in the past where there were little girls in training. Fun project! :)

Anyone welcome to share here...photos and stories of your own tea parties with the younger generation in training!

I'm going back to 2009 with this one! Having tea at a sweet tea room in Oklahoma City with my granddaugter, Abi, and my daughter-in-love and mother-in-love.

The guy in the picture is my son who was our chauffeur who dropped us off and showed up at the end for pics! :)

Oh, what a great collage, Ellene!  These photographs will bring pleasant memories for many years to come!

Another TEA Party in Training. Abi and I again. This tea party was at my aunt's house...the one who trained me. :)

What a fun grouping of pictures of your beautiful family. Abi is just adorable. Thanks for sharing these.

Thanks, Donna! I have lots more...LOL!

And...another tea party memory! This tea room in Oklahoma City was the best place ever! Two stories of tea party fun. Nice restaurant with delicious food, gift shop deluxe, and at least three private tea rooms - plus a room to dress up and photography staging. Alas, it is now gone. :(

Daughter, daughter-in-love and granddaughter.
