Was wondering if anyone can give me any idea on the value of wall sconces, brass, by the Sterling Bronze Co. From what I have found it was a high end company with many of their items in the White House and other well known buildings. I am trying to include pics. Not having much success. The sconces are 17x11 and weigh nearly 6 lbs. The company name is engraved on the back. I am told that because of the size they were used as fireplace sconces.

Hi Vince and thank you for the warm welcome

By looking at the sqaure parts I really cannot answer your question.

The electric is cloth wire and plastic coated. My brother is an electrician and he
believes these were originally gas and converted. Someone tried to re-do the electric
at some point.

The "goop" is paint.

I also have the shades, which to me appear to be some plastic material.

I know Remains carry Sterling Bronze and have already sent them an email as well as a couple of other business on the east coast.

I would like to sell them if anyone is interested.

Thank you Vince for taking the time to write and give me those sites.

Iris
Hi, Iris
Sounds like you already know all you need on the lamps.
Are you looking to sell retail direct yourself, or offering to dealers?

Either way, what's the price?

cheers
Vince

I am trying to figure out how to do the pics so they can be seen properly. Also, I know what Remains is asking for their Sterling Bronze, but I have no idea how much to ask. I also didn't mention it, but I have 3 identical pairs all in great condition. They came from quite a building as I also have a chandelier, that is enormous, also in brass. I have no idea where to go to get them appraised.
