Your welcome Geek Stash.

I will admit that that is definitely 1 thing I miss, being able to work on stuff yourself, like the old tv's. All the new stuff with all the electronics and circuit boards/chips in them, you can't do it yourself anymore. You also end up paying tons just for a repair on the new stuff. The older stuff you could repair yourself and it didn't cost you a lot unless the main component, like the main picture tube in a tv, went out.

Is it possible for you to pull the back off of the TV with no problem? If so, you will need to do that and take a look at the tubes to find out what kind they are. If there is a TV Repair shop that has been in business for 20-30 yrs or more, they are most likely going to be able to help you with either repairing it or telling you where to get the help and the tubes at. The TV Repair Shop should be able to give you a better idea of what the problem may be as well.

If there is a build up of dust in the back, then you may need to take the small nozzle fitting (for like dusting or cracks and crevices) of a vacuum cleaner and suck that dust up. Be careful when you do it though.

My dad used to replace the tubes in the back of our old Zenith Color TV when the picture started giving us problems, but that was back in the 70's and 80's when TV's still had tubes in them. The best I can tell you is pick up that phone book and start calling TV Repair Shops and asking them questions about old TV's.

Ah Yes! Comic books loved them growing up and still collect and buy and sell. My take on the current market of comics as so many other collectibles is that the very best most desirable continue there escalation in values. The mediocre at best are holding value, with a lot of that group dropping due to such a large availability and ease of locating on the internet. The poor reading copies still hold small value but not dropping at the percentages of the mediocre examples. Most comics I sell are less then 5.00. But what I consider the best stay with me.
