This is a ring I recently bought. The ring is marked 925 and Mexico across from it. Above 925, something looking like "ipe" is also marked. Any ideas on who made it??? Thanks!

Hi Asher, I think what you have is an example of Mexican Sterling Silver. These pieces come from Mexico, and they are closely affiliated with Native Americans, and many Traditional Native American (US) designs. Some of the very best artisans in Silver, come from this area, and includes many different artists. Most of whom have their own "Special Markings". The Company and or place is usually called Taxco, and sometimes Tasco. I believe that may also be a Company name, within the area called something else? the correct name escapes me at the moment. See below a link, to help you ID your ring. Scroll down on the top page here (in the link below), and you will start to see the many artists and their markings, time frame in which they worked, etc.

If your able to ID your artist, or at least confirm that Taxco Silver is what you have, you could check ebay sold or other online auction sold listings to get an Approx. value for your ring. :)
