Just came home with this little treasure. It's a beautiful Nautilus shell vase sitting on what appears to be a lily pad with leaves around it's base. It has a satin finish with a subtle pearly glow. The only mark is USA # 415. I had read somewhere that most of the USA pottery is either Shawnee or McCoy since they weren't required to factory mark things after the war and Japan started exporting again. So you have USA only marks and pattern numbers on a lot of post war pieces that could have been made by more well known companies. Who ever made it, it sure does go well with my giant "Poppy Trail" clam shell bowl by Metlox. -Mike -

I'm pretty sure it's not McCoy, doubt it's shawnee either. I'm learning more to the 1940's - 50's Hull or possibly one of the California potteries. Hope that helps a bit!
