Another piece I'm hoping to get some help identifying.

I've had a fair amount of free time on my hands lately as I am off work for health reasons. Have been using that time to add to my collection. I guess that's why I'm running into more pieces I can't identify on my own. The mark on this one is fairly faintly incised or it's worn enough to look that ay. The piece is a lovely pot finished in tones and design that my wife says makes her think of wheat or oats for some reason. The mark on the bottom, to me anyway, looks like a wheat sheaf or stalk or something to that effect. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this one. I figure that between the signature and the mark someone might be able to point me in the right direction. Cheers.

Well, Most company manufactured pieces are not signed in this manner. I think you are having great difficulty in identifying your pieces because they are "studio" potter pieces. There are hundreds of independant potters all over the US and Europe - so it could be any one of them.

If you search for "Studio pottery Marks" you might have better luck, but even then it's very difficult. I'm an estate liquidator and when I price pieces like this, I just go on beauty, form, color and so on.
