I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

Some time ago, Silas Finch wrote an essay about the decrease in attendance
at Historic Houses.http://www.antiquing.com/essays/silas-housetours.htm
We have read about Historic Houses being sold for private living.
A recent article discusses Connecticut Resident-Curator to preserve such homes.
Some, like the 1699 Winslow House have developed extensive community programs
of lectures, diners, etc.  We are interested in what Historic Houses are doing to
increase the number of visitors.
Many Historic Homes open to the public are listed at
www.antiquing.com/oldhomes.htm.
