Event Description

THE ORIGINAL 154th SEMI-ANNUAL YORK ANTIQUES SHOW & SALE” is scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, January 29, 30, and 31, 2010 at MEMORIAL HALL EAST, located within the YORK FAIRGROUNDS CONVENTION & EXPO CENTER in downtown York, Pennsylvania. This extremely popular event will feature 96 carefully screened EXHIBITORS in room settings offering a truly impressive variety of antiques. According to show manager Melvin L. Arion, the merchandise at York will run the full gamut, including 18th and 19th century period American and English furniture, as well as country pieces in original paint, fine early porcelain, pottery, Oriental carpets, quilts, hooked rugs, samplers and other textiles, estate jewelry, Native American pottery and weavings, early kitchen and fireplace items, and much more. Arion does an outstanding job of making certain the scope of the merchandise offered will be as broad as possible so that just about any visitor can find a “new” treasure! In addition, all major credit cards will be accepted. The Show is considered by many to be one of THE PREMIER antiquing events in the mid-Atlantic region!
James L. Lawrence, Little Compton, RI will be presenting his new book ROSEWARE: English Rose-Decorated Pearlware, co-authored with Albert K. Doggett, recently deceased. Some examples of these wares will be for sale. He will be available to autograph and personalize copies of the book. For more information, call James at (401)635-2567.

Because of the continuing success, there’s little dealer turnover, giving visitors the chance to really get to know the exhibitors from whom they’re buying. New participants this time are: from New Jersey – Alice and Art Booth of Wayne and Noonmark Antiques of Moorestown; James Island Antiques of Charlestown, SC; Pat and Rich Garthoffner of Lititz, PA and Wiscasset, ME, and from New York State – Douglas Constant of Orient, Long Island and Dennis and Valerie Bakoledis of Rhinebeck.
Show hours both Friday and Saturday are 10 A.M. to 6 P.M., and Sunday from 1 A.M. to 5 P.M. Parking is FREE. The building is smoke-free. Food will be available.
ADMISSION is $10/person, $9 with this article or an ad.
