I just posted about my Grandmother's button collection
in the group Victorian & Edwardian Fashions.
You can see a Button String of bone, shell, and
Mother of Pearl, among others.
Here is a photo of some of her funky vintage buttons
that I strung. They look like colorful candy.
Hi Victorian Lady -
I have a collection of buttons as well. I have made a necklace from a Victorian Button and a bakelite buckle. My workshop has a collection of thousands of buttons and beads. My latest craft is bending silverplate odd or orphaned forks into plate stands or business card holders. These are adorned with vintage buttons. (see photo) Thanks for inviting me to be your friend!
Hi Cynde,
I love what you have done with the forks & buttons! Very creative idea!
Thanks for sharing the photos with us!
You're welcome for the friend invitation. :)
If you are looking for an online free store to sell at, I sell at Blujay.com. Listings are free, selling is free. I used ebay until I went broke for a little fee here and there. You will find the forums very helpful. Bernie - Your Bounty
OUR FOOTBRIDGE COVE LOGO
Lovely Buttons!!!!!!! At Footbridge Cove we sell Button Collections. Have had some buyers with interesting professions...a furrier from Australia who makes inside out hide vests and jackets adorned within buttons! We always try to have some listed, not sure if we do at the moment but one of my favorites family traditions is stringing colorful vintage buttons on heavy twine and using as garland on our Christmas Tree! I'll attach photo if I can remember where to find it.
