Dear All,I have a very fine Sheraton satinwood corner cabinet, c1820. It is extremely untouched with great patina. However, I am trying to find out more information on what I have been calling a 'peacock eye' pattern on the cornice. Hopefully you can see what I mean from the photo. As you can see, it has Tigerwood cross banding, gilt wood etc. Could anyone direct me to any similar examples of this peacock eye decoration, and/or whether this is the correct term for it please? Many thanks. See More
"Heart and doves usually indicate a wedding piece from the family. I do have an armoire with the quadrifoglio carving in the shop now-never had one before out of 3000 armoires, never even noticed one before. Brittany is a weird place for France."
Just came across this almost mint condition handbill advertising Buster Keaton's 'The Navigator', at The Peking Pavilion (Peking), showing Feb 24-27, 1925. Just under full broadsheet size, printed only one side. See More
