The only thing I can think of is that the train was a large original photo someplace, and the man from a later era stood next to the picture and had himself photographed beside the train. That is Benny Goodman and Judy Garland was rehearsing for a concert at Robin Hood Dell in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, in August 1943.
Hi, Bev~ If your Yorkies are really trained you are a better woman than I am. After 16 years our Fresca was good at leaving puddles any time she was mad at us. We were away too long, puddle. We ignored her, puddle. You get it. Anyway, you will live through the teen years and there is a huge light at the end! Our baby is 29 and she is a delight. Thank goodness we decided not to kill her, although it had been tempting. OK, vampire fan, did you ever watch Dark Shadows? I think I'm a "tad" older than you, but it was my favorite after school pasttime for a while. How wonderful that you've followed your dream and are a fulltime antiquer. I found your book, too. Kudos!!! You are one accomplished lady! Nice to meet you, too! Barbara
Hi, Yorkie lover!!! We had one for sixteen years! Anyway, welcome to Peanut Butter Glasses and Swanky Swigs. I see you are published, but as I can't find your name I have no idea who you are and what you've done. Let us all know! Barbara
Ah yes the Kane County Flea Market. I have fond memories-unfortunately it ain't what it used to be! And the area around it, especially downtown St. Charles is no more for antique fanatics such as you and I. Its now all sorts of boutique-y shops. My husband and I took a road trip there two week-ends ago and boy were we disappointed. Same goes for Long Grove. All the great stores I used to inhabit are gone! Have to go farther afield now but that's okay, too. Once my husband takes his early retirement in Jan. we'll be taking more road trips. May even get down your way.
Hi - How are you? North Carolina huh??? I love it there! I am originally from Western MD-Cumberland to be exact. I now live in McHeny IL. I use to work alot in the Carolina's mostly around Ashton. I have put my love for the anitques, auctions, ect on the back burner for years. I am ready to get more involved with it all now. I want to go to auctioneer school this winter and want to learn to do estate sales, ect. My first love would be to have my own store, but the rent for a store here is very high, so that may have to wait a little longer.
Definitely will do that, Beverly! Your pix of your baby and her babies is almost too adorable for words! I've never seen Yorkie puppies before - she looks like a proud momma.
