I grew up in Jessamine County, just about 20" south of Lexington ( at least it used to be, it's now more of a metro area). I am loving all the networking that goes on in .ning! I don't feel so along any more in my love of vintage! I have very few friends in the antique world where I live.

Hi Kym! 'Long time no see! LOL I'm pooped with working at the hospital, and I've only listed a few things lately on etsy and bonanzle. I hope to list some tonight after I have a nap. I worked 11-7 last night and haven't gone to bed yet! I hope everything is OK with you! :O)

I just recently started selling over there! What a small world. What is your booth name?

:) It is treasure hunting isn't it? I live for the weekends and can't wait for the new listings to be in our weekly paper. Our area has auctions every month too. I gotta start checkin' them out again.

:) We called them mud cookies.

Where I live...you can't carry even pocket knives around...into any government buildings (city, state, or federal), the hospital, bars, etc. The schools have metal detectors. They are tough as there are alot of gangs around here. If they saw anyone pull out a knife at an estate sale, someone might just pull out their cell phone and dial 911! LOL

Kym, thanks for the kind words about my profile page. I enjoyed reading about the path that brought you here to IAO. We published a trade paper for 14 years and did the actual printing at a small town newspaper in Southwest Missouri that had a web press. I had a great experience over all those years on print days traveling from St Louis to that small town and being a "fly on the wall" so to speak, getting the nitty gritty of the goings on around that town. I got very close to all the folks who worked at the paper and it was a great time in my life. I did eventually get burned out on "deadlines" and we eventually sold our paper. Anyway keep writing - oh, of course and collecting!
Great to meet you,
Flea Market Maven - Georgia G.

Hi Kym! I sold a feedsack apron at the antique store where I used to have an area, here in town; due to the economy it had to close. :O(
I do have a few feedsack aprons in my collection...a couple I may sell online at etsy or bonanzle. Diane (one 'n'...the editor has 2 'n's' in her name)

Hi Kym! I was reading your discussion 101 post. The guy testing wood with the pen knife should by arrested for vandalism! LOL You can test for soft or hard wood just by pressing down with your fingernail! I wonder if this guy cuts chunks out? LOL
At some of the large estate sales, with fine antiques, in Corpus Christi, run by out of town groups, I've seen off duty COPs at the door...he'd get arrested for sure! LOL :O)
