So far it's been a great fall for us at Saco River Auction Co. in Maine. We've had some really fine estate auctions resulting in tremendous crowds- including the retailer folks- at our recent sales and we're really getting excited for the next few auctions coming up; especially our sports cards & memorabilia, firearms & sportsman's, and annual Thanksgiving weekend auctions!
Above, you can see a slideshow of many of the lots in our next auction- October 16th- full of all kinds of awesome sports cards, memorabilia, advertising, toys and more! Baseball, football, hockey, boxing, golf, etc! There's just over 300 lots in total.
We like to do a sports auction like this twice a year- usually once around the start of baseball's spring training and then again come playoff time now in October. We're all Red Sox fans here, but you'll find great moments nostalgia from all your favorite teams in our next auction.
The following weekend we're hosting our first firearms and sportsman's specialty auction. It's full of the best hunting, fishing, and taxidermy from around our area. The auction features over 100+ firearms including a rare 1898 Parker 10 gauge CH model that was 1 of only 27 ever made.
Other stand out items include a 2003 L.L. Bean Edition Subaru Outback (green), 3 canoes- 1911 Charles River Model Old Town Canoe, 1926 Old Town Canoe, 1930 Old Town Canoe-, Leonard and Orvis Fishing Rods and many other bamboo rods, African taxidermy mounts, Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young white tail buck taxidermy mounts, a 30lb Salmon, knives, photographs, ephemera, ammo, and too much more too list.
Here's a preview slideshow of our firearms and sportsman's auction-
This one will be our first real go round for a heavily loaded firearms auction since getting our federal firearms license a few months back, so we're holding on to high expectations for this one.
And now, to take a complete 180, our annual Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend Auction features some of the finer things in life including a regally carved walnut king's chair, a beautiful inlaid mahogany double pedestal table with leaves that extend over 10 feet, a Wallace Nutting Table, an 18 Kt. Mens Elgin Pocket Watch in running condition, a Sterling Tiffany and Company bracelet, a Swiss presentation pocket watch, a 1/2 Ct. Diamond cluster pendant on 14kt. chain, an American Gothic circa 1850's SIlver plated tea set, Mens Rolex watch, ancient coins with documentation, and much more! Check out a slideshow preview below-
