So...there are lots of vintage collectibles out there with minor need of tender loving care!
Here's three Need TLC Collectibles added in my photos this morning.
I've found while browsing garage sales that a small chip will sometimes merit it as a throw away and it will be marked 10 cents or 25 cents.
But, About.com/antiques brings this perspective: "Just because an antique or collectible is broken or damaged doesn't necessarily render it totally worthless. Many dealers will buy items they can repair or use for parts to repair other pieces. Severely damaged antiques are sometimes transformed by those clever at makeover projects, or crafters will purchase them for supplies. Depending on the extent of the damage and the item's relative usefulness, it may still hold some value."
Did someone say makeover projects? Ah...the joy of repurposing vintage items that have been chipped or scarred in some manner!
This photo shows a beautiful 1960's acrylic flower pin that had damage...repurposed with a vintage single ear clip and a few craft embellishments for a new saucy look!
Non-working watches with photos inside!
I'm kind of always on the hunt for something not perfect. Something that has hidden value and just needs a little TLC!
