I'd like to put up vintage wallpaper in my bathroom with a shower.  My wallpaper is 1930's era and has no "coating" on it.  Any suggestions?

Does anyone know how to protect vintage wallpaper that is going in a bathroom?  I would like to use a sealer or coating of some kind that will not react with the wallpaper glue.

I wouldn't. If it has no protective coating it is not meant to be in a room with as much humidity as a bathroom. Should you try to coat it with varnish or poly. spray, etc., it may just change the color, make it yellowish, uneven, or otherwise unattractive.

I've also found that bathrooms as a rule are better off without paper wallpaper, it starts to deteriorate pretty fast when it's paper. Modern vinyl wall coverings fare somewhat better but even they start to peel along the seams, or wrinkle, after a couple of years or sooner, especially if it's a busy family bathroom where several people shower often.

I'd paint the bathroom and put the pretty vintage wallpaper in a foyer or bedroom where you'd have the pleasure of looking at it in better condition for a lot longer.
