Since I retired from teaching, I found that attending auctions, then reselling on eBay is a source of pleasure and supplements my income.
The auctions are nothing auspicious like Christie's, not even close. Auctions I attend are usually stocked with items from humble estate sales or the liquidation of antique or gift shops. About the only similarity is that the buyers do respectfully bid with number cards. There is a thrill surrounding the presence of an item that just might bring you a windfall!
I have learned about collectibles markings throughout the process, and I have been thrilled to be reunited with pop culture items from my childhood.
My selling online is limited to about ten items at a time, which is cost effective for me.
I don't know how I lived without auctions.
