Antiques in America can often be much more expensive than in the UK and the majority are imported. The smart move is to buy in England and have them shipped over to save you large sums of money and get true quality without the premium!

NB: A good tip is to only shop at dealers in England displaying the LAPADA logo, this way you can be sure they are reputable as the antique dealers association (LAPADA) vet all members who apply to join!

Hi Guys,

I'm new here.

@John (RareVictorian.com) I've already read you blog and it's a pleasure to find You here.

@Antique Furniture SEO-ish means that Your are going to manual modify your search engine ranking with targeted anchor text (the text of the link) in the links pointing to a specific site...your links looks so because most people that link to sites naturally in communities like this usally link directly with the urls s: http://www.newel.com/antique_desk_for_sale.html

Hope it helps

What does SEO-ish mean? Sorry I am not familiar with the term.

If you are wanting to buy american antiques still the midwest is the best place, it is where it was all made, in Kalamazoo we have The Emporium which has been there since the mid 70's bob, has quite the selection of furniture of all periods victorian to 50's, or Hodinnie's antique here in Allegan, Michigan, whole sale & retail appointment only, you never know what David has bought, whether it is a 1700's pc, belter, homer, stickley or what ever,
