Because I’m an artist, and can be kind of edgy at that, a lot of people expect me to be primarily interested in collecting art. I suppose I am quite interested in collecting art. But what few suspect is that I’ve also got quite a passion for … vintage and antique tea pots.
Yes, I said tea pots.
There’s something exquisitely charming about old tea pots. For me, they conjure up images of old English cottages with fires blazing in the hearth and a hot pot of tea on the table. A tea pot always makes me feel cozy.
Here is one of my favorites …
The nature inspired Majolica is something I really enjoy. I love the color palette; the brown, green and pink glazes used. Generally, if it has a frog on it, I’ll buy it if I can, so I appreciate a lot of the Majolica.
I also have a thing for tea post shaped like vegetables. My absolute favorite was one shaped like a head of cabbage. I say was ... because it was broken in a move. So now I'm on the lookout for another cabbage tea pot, or maybe even a few. One can never have too many :).
Online resources are where I’ve found most of my pots and I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone is collecting here at http://www.iantiqueonline.com … maybe there are fellow tea pot collectors out there?
