I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

I was surfing around on Ebay and I stumbled upon a chess game table. Its not like any other game table, this piece of living room furniture is a real work of art. It can be used as coffee table or it can be opened up like two roman castle doors ready to welcome the nobleman with honor. A true medieval sense of nostalgia you've never even experienced, but still it makes you feel like your going back in time like you were really there at one point, you know? I just wish I had the money to pay for this thing! Its so beautiful but it costs almost a thousand dollars. Who's got that kind of money? I sure don't but it doesn't mean that I don't have a classy taste. I guess its just a mere fantasy.

Another antique that I came across while surfing Ebay was a traditional, blue floral medallion country rug. It was 8x11 inches and had the charm of a European diplomat if you first saw it walking into my apartment. Well, not in my apartment but it will be right next to my dining room table when I do purchase it at the end of this month. Believe me that is something that would look marvelous within the proportion and colors of my furniture. A brown lining of beige and red flower patterns surrounding the blue center of white stars sprinkled through it. It truly matches the texture and the way my apartment is set up. Maybe I'll come back to http://www.iantiqueonline.com and publish another post at the end of this month, and tell you how my purchase went.

I'm not going to give my hopes up, hopefully that rug will still be there when I have the money to make my purchase.

Hi, Just wondering did you have a photo of it. I have had a store on ebay for many years maybe I know the seller and can see if they will let you do the layaway plan. Many sellers do, even me if I know the buyer.

I've never seen a rug that was 8x11 inches. INCHES, is what you say. Rug samples are about that size, but I can't imagine having one next to my dining room table. Are you sure it wasn't feet?
