Pricing Antiques - Without utilizing Ebay

What we have here is a Toledo Short Sword Walking Cane. As it is a consealed weapon we aren't allowed to list it on Ebay. So how do we find a good starting price for this particular piece. We believe this to be Late Victorian. The knarled wood style stick is in good shape with a little cracking. The cane measures 35-1/2" long and the blade is 14-1/2" long. Top of the cane is brass. We have a basic appraisal at about $200 but we can't find any exact matches. Contact me if you need more info or if you have more info.

I tried selling gun parts on ebay; of 5 listings, they cancelled three of them. They just ended them without any warning. One was for a holster and to show fit I had a revolver in it. I then signed up for gunbroker.com. It's free to sign up and the cost is way less than ebay. If the item doesn't sell in 7 days it is automatically re-listed FREE. One item I had it listed 4 times before it sold. It sold for $59.99 and my fee was $2.37.

Call it a Sword Stick, not a sword walking cane; more "hits" will come up. I have a hand-carved one that appraises for $3,000. I would guess your swordstick would be worth around $400. Is yours "Toledo" (Spain) steel-If so, double the value at around $800. Mine has been pledged to my son.
