We've had many antique German style dolls come through the store here and of course, condition is everything. When there are bisque pieces everywhere either because of age or just from a little one being rough with and antique, what is the most important thing to prepare for preservation and possible repair? We all know the doll heads by themselves can sometimes bring a good buck here and there, but if you have tattered bisque piece and things flaking off and rope ties or elastics not doing their jobs, what do you do? Post it online and hope the high bidder is into doll repair? Help me out here; I'm a little ignorant in this area. Though I respect the genre of antiques, I have the unfair disadvantage of being a guy.
