Collecting US coins can be a fun and rewards hobby for individuals interested in testing the waters of the antique world. As a child I didn’t really collect anything, though I had an interest in just about everything from Ancient Greece to Victorians. When my second child was born, my mother started collecting uncalculated coins for my kids in albums and my husband started me on collecting coins. It all started with a 1962 silver quarter, and branched out to half dollars, dollars, mercury dimes, and more. It’s thrilling for my kids as they painstakingly look over found change and then turn to the coin collecting book. We’ve also got them a State coin collecting book where they can learn about the coins they are collecting. This collection is there own personal one, that they have started, they are circulated coins and not worth much more then the excitement on their faces when they get a new coin they didn’t have before. When they are older, we’ll start getting them the more valuable coins to add to their collection, but for now the coins they find in change are great. For those interested in learning more about US Coins or just sharing their own collection I would highly recommend http://www.iantiqueonline.com, you can also post about your own collection.
