Space Memorabilia collectables of the 50’s

Just thought I would share this info with everybody. eH

During  the 50’s – 60’s there was a space race to the moon.

Major companies saw this as a good opportunity to commemorate and cash in on the hype. Many major companies started to produce lines of furniture, toys, light fixture, comic book, still & mechanical rocket ship banks, movies, coins, dolls, even some Countries put out postage stamps and the list goes on.                 Tips on Garage Sale Hunting

 

Check garage sale ads for your personal interests / preferences and those are the sales you should go to first.

Draw out a map of the area you’re interested in and mark them #1, #2, #3 etc. [save time, money and driving around]

If you’re into antiques, go to the older, well established areas.

Always have small bills and change.

Start early.... {The early bird gets the worm}

6 board blanket chest

Should have, Could have… But didn’t

Auction time in the big smoke and all the on-line information was intriguing enough that we planned on attending. The night before the auction I downloaded all the pictures/ information, did little research to get set for the next day, it does look to be a good auction. A few hours to go before I hit the sack and I picked up my favorite book to read, Killer Stuff and Tons of Money.  Very interesting read on doing flea markets and the antiquing…
