My Antiquing friend Nina won tickets to the Antiques Road Show here in Phoenix. I got myself invited to be her guest for the second ticket, her husband has no interest in going. Yippee.. I do not really have anything to take. Maybe a Painting oh might take my Mom's Ivory hand mirror with the portrait..

This set has been one of my favorites, but it is time for it to find a new home.
Many of you may know my husband has just received a kidney transplant. He's doing great! But please keep him in your prayers. (Eddie Long)
The medication is very expensive and every year we will face a $5000.00 plus out of pocket expense for medication. With anti-rejection drugs it does not take long . Our finances are stretched to the… Continue

It's been ages since I've been on the blog...I know I'm just terrible! I was at the point of computer overload! LOL All work and very little 'play' made me a very grumpy gal!
My hubby and I are in Houston, Tx., staying three nights at the Hyatt Place Hotel; tonight's our last night. :O( I'm using the hotel PC to blog. (We'll be coming back here again, as we were treated like royalty! It's a three star hotel, but the staff are super nice! My hubby luvs the HD channels on the wide screen… Continue

I recently purchased a rocking chair at a garage sale. It's in good condition, but needs stained. It appears to have been dipped, since the seat slats are seperating. Other than that, it's solid. There were 2 pcs. of angle iron under the seat. I don't think that is original. The height of the back is just under 35". Does anyone recognize this as anything worth refinishing? Thanks for your… Continue

My wife brought home from a Garage Sale a Settee. Kind of like a large wooden double chair. It was missing it's seat part and in pretty bad shape with some pieces missing and in need of a good sanding, staining, and poly.
After some tender loving work, I have it looking sort of decent. But not sure where to go now with the upholster work. Besides the bottom (seat part) there's two back sections that need added. Would love to see a similar version to get an idea of what it should look… Continue

I recently found this rocking chair at an estate sale. The owner said that it belonged to his wifes Grandmother. He's not sure of the age, but figures about 75 years old. It appears to be in solid shape, but needs refinished. Can anyone tell me if there might be some value here? The height of the back is just under 35". Under the seat are 2 pcs. of angle iron. I don't know if that is original, but appears to… Continue
