Looking for Feedback on Recent Finds

I am pretty new at all this and I am currently trying to build up inventory before making the jump to renting a space at an antique mall. I have just recently started selling on Ebay as way to get my feet wet so to speak. Here are some recent finds and I would love some feedback. I am open to the good, the bad and the ugly.

I love old advertising stuff and I got this metal perpetual calendar at a local auction. It is in pretty good shape. For more…

Antiques; the Business of Recycling

When my husband and I started our business in 1978 it was to be an outlet for local artists. We bought oak furniture pieces (oak was popular in the 70’s in Idaho) and began refinishing until we had a good foundation to open our shop. We opened the door two weeks before our Grand Opening and after the…

Is an Auction Result Determinant of an Items Value?

If at first you don’t succeed, try try again. This Grif Teller painting failed to bring even the minimum bid of $15,000 a few months ago at William Bunch Auctions. June 22nd it brought $61,000. This may put questions into the minds of consignors. Is the hammer price an actual estimate of an items value? Should consignors put… Continue

A Day in the Life......

Someone has kindly donated a collection of 13 vintage cameras to our local charity shop, and they have asked me to sell them on consignment. When I first saw them, I thought they were mostly junkers, but having cleaned the dust off the covers, they turn out to be really very good. One or two have cover damage, but nearly all the internals are excellent.

I've prepared the first three for sale - one has cover damage, the other two are pretty good. They are an age progression of Kodak… Continue

One Sure way to make Money

Doing what you love is as important as ever, but if you're going to make a living at it, it helps to find a niche where money flows as a regular consequence of the success of your idea. Loving what you do is almost as important as doing what you love, especially if you need to make a living at it. I have always thought that and was reinforced when I read it on Seth Blog.

Maybe you can't make money doing what you love (at least what you love right now). But I bet you can figure out…
