If anyone here is familiar with the quilts of Gee's Bend, Alabama that have been such a sensation in the quilt/collecting world, you probably have an opinion on the artistry of their design. What can't be denied is the freedom from strict adherenc...

Hi Sharon! It sure seems like 100 sites! I'm here, bonanzle.ning, the handcrafters cottage.ning, vintagebride.ning, avcosa.ning, and greenspotting.ning, and biz bodies.ning! No wonder I neglect the VTLC!!! I hope to list at least a few things today on etsy and bonanzle! :O)

Hi Sharon! Thank you for the birthday wishes! Is my birthday posted on the VTLC? I'm on so many ning sites I forget to check back there, and Holly, and the bunch are probably fed up with me! LOL I forget to wish anyone Happy Birthday anymore! I hope I can get things going on an even keel here! Take care, Diane

Thank you for getting back to me. So, 1970s isn't really vintage is it???? I don't think she charged enough for it, but I could be wrong on that. I paid 9.00 for it. Can I finish it and still retain the vintage catagory or will it take it to modern? I hope that made sense. Again, thank you and have a wonderful day. Nancy

Hi Sharon: Diane McQueen suggested I ask you about the quilt I just purchased. The lady said it's vintage bark cloth and I was wondering if you could tell anything from a photo? I'm real excited about this not only becuase I only paid 9.00 for a 48x96 vintage quilt top, but also because it could be bark cloth. I'd never even heard of bark cloth until I started talking to Diane. Can you give me any suggestions on this, i.e. age, what to look for to determine age, etc. Thank you for your help. Nancy

Wow! I feel like I'm surrounded by celebrities, here! First I find this site by an author whose books I own and love, then I run across Flea Market Maven whose site I've visited often (very helpful) and then I find you here, too! I have no idea how many times I've looked (and drooled) at your site. I LOVE old fabrics - I just hate cutting them! It's a dilemma I haven't resolved very well, yet. Your website has been in my "favorites" for years. I'm always on the prowl for beautiful old fabric, so I guess it's no wonder I found your site early on. I know I haven't bought anything (yet!), but that's back to that owning v. using problem I have. Nice to meet you!

Hi Sharon,
I am loving your quilts...so graphic! Has Judy seen your Bowmansville Square quilt? I think she is doing a personal study on them I get to her study group off and on...she's about an hour away, and I still have school aged children that I have to get from the bus after school...so I am always rushing around.
I think starting a quilt group would be a wonderful idea...I'd join it!
My best,
Dana

Hi. Dana,

Looks like this might be a fun place to share our love of the old and unique - I don't often get to Judy's for study group, but I'm sure we'll be "seeing" a lot of each other here and around the net.

Hi Sharon,

We run in a few of the same online circles, so it's nice to see a "familar face" here!

My best,
