Fabulous piece, and how wonderful to find a bit of provenance inside. Although it isn't advertised on their web pages for some reason, the Museo del Barrio has a wonderful and extensive collection of pre-Colombian art and pottery. Perhaps they ca...

It's a very pretty brooch and appears to be 70's. That wouldn't be a c-clasp but a safety clasp or lock. Perhaps a brooch that large was meant to be worn on a kilt. Very nice.

Hi Sue: Is the bear itself wearing a crown possibly? (Finnish). Could it be a wild boar or lion that looks like a bear by any chance? Lol! And is there anyway that you can scan the mark on a flatbed scanner, and then perhaps we can get a better ...

Hi Erin -- Your clamper is very beautiful! It's a late 50's early 60's design done in a classical revival style, so it's quite easy to mistake for an earlier piece. I know you'll want to represent it correctly prior to selling, and wanted to pass ...

Hello, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link, but going to give it a shot and hoping that I'm not breaking any rules... http://forums.ebay.com/db1/forum/Fine-Jewelry-Gems/1000000040 I haven't seen the good luck charm or the watch fob -- are these ...

That's a lovely little flask! Is it Asian? Perhaps carved jade? It looks like the bottom is marked -- so maybe include a pic of the bottom along with the back, which will help the perfume/scent folks assist with an ID. I'd also get it tested for ...

LOL Sue -- no books for me (just writing descriptions for my listings, feels like opening a vein, lol). I think you're onto sometime -- if the necklace was restrung, that may explain that clasp that appears a little later, but then again, it's st...

Hi Sue: I find meerschaum pieces now and then, mostly the carved flowers or stars, or the more common 'popcorn' looking style. Sometimes earrings with small rhinestones as well -- this is mostly 40's - 50's jewelry. I went ahead and googled 'mee...

Hi Craig: I agree -- it's a celluloid buckle, circa 1940's. I'm not able to see the angle of the bird head very well, but it looks like it could be a griffin. Nice piece!

Hi Sue: Your demi made of meerschaum, and from the style of the carving and clasp, is it circa 50's into early 60's. You didn't show the back of the earrings, but I'm betting they have rhodium screw backs. Nice set! :)
