The set is in a deep untouched original finish and in mint condition; the solid carving and variations, shown in each of these pieces, highlight the peak of one of the greatest furniture makers. Circa 1890.
The 60" R.J. Horner Figural Mahogany Dining Room Table features massive legs with winged maiden busts, acanthus leaf carvings at the waist over a curved base with bell flower blossoms on the sides and hairy paw feet; solid deeply carved center pedestal, scroll carved apron with mythical lion's heads, stranded leaf and vine pattern with bows in between. Complete with 3 leaves measuring 14". Stands 31 ½" high.
The R.J. Horner Figural Mahogany Dining Room Sideboard has large winged griffins supporting the bevel mirrored back, muscular mountain men with goat's heads at the waist, the 2 door panels have 3 figural putti in a medallion over a gargoyle head centered in scrolling floral, ribbon and leaf carving. 2 wide drawers with figural fronts and 3 smaller drawers set between the partitions with oversized lion's head pulls. The pierce carved crest has a center medallion with large winged putti and mountain men on the outside; complete with unusual paw feet, centered with faces. 95"H x 73"W x 29".
R.J. Horner Figural Mahogany Dining Room China Cabinet. Beautiful double door bow front china cabinet with figural maiden busts over scrolling pilasters and acanthus leaf carving holding lion's heads on the front. The frieze has a pair of winged griffins with an urn in between foliage carvings and centered between lion's heads; pierce carved crest with center medallion, winged putti and eagle finials. 87"H x 55"W x 19".
The R.J. Horner Figural Mahogany Dining Room Server has a pair of standing mountain men supports, the outside arm holds up the top, the inside arm hold a ram's head with drapery, scroll carving on the sides over a cluster of summer fruit with exposed feet and a serpentine lower shelf. The bow front top has a center drawer with a pair of winged griffins and an urn in between foliate carvings and centered between lion's heads; backsplash is topped with a pierce carved crest with a center medallion, winged putti and stylized fleur-de-lis corners. 61"H x 54"W x 23"D.
Set of 8 R.J. Horner Figural Mahogany Dining Room Chairs with inverted medallion backs, figural maiden busts on the sides over acanthus leaf carving and swirling leaves on the thick crests; serpentine seat rails, carved cabriole legs and claw feet. The two armchairs are garnished with figural griffin supports carved with the finest detail. Losses to upholstery, frames are excellent! 2 Armchairs are 45" high and the side chairs are 42 ½" high.
Anthony Hart 16 in. Cherry Blossom Table Lamp. The shade has an irregular bumpy form with clusters of pink & white flowers and red berries, 5 rows of geometric brick border and a lightly mottled and translucent olive green background. Shade is signed and numbered 266 on 2 metal tags on the reverse and also signed within the glass, A. Hart, typical to this maker. On a wonderful matching light up base. Tiffany Studios Bronze Crab Inkwell. Fine figure of a crab, its claws reaching forward pinching the coiled handles of the inkwell pot. The inkwell has a a fine beaded edge, glass insert and the hinged lid is inset with a small natural oyster shell. The body has 8 knobby legs and the top shell of the crab is hinged, hiding a small storage compartment. Has an exceptional brown and deep red patina with green highlights; no scratches, breaks, repairs or losses. Signature on bottom Tiffany Studios New York over the early Tiffany Glass Decorating Co. mark, number 29233 over the number 8; 4H x 8W x 9 in
Handel Leaded Boudoir Lamp. 10 inch domical leaded shade with an irregular border, has nice vibrant tones of purple, peach, red and green glass; shade is unsigned and in excellent condition. On a 14 1/2 inch Handel tree trunk base.
Tiffany Studios Turtleback Desk Lamp. Fine bronze base with a leafy platform and art glass jewels around the edge. Two arms branch up and hold the bronze shade with beaded and rope twist borders and 2 large panels of blue turtleback glass which glow a firey red when lit. Signed on the base Tiffany Studios New York 403. Base has an excellent patina and no cracks, chips, breaks or repairs in the glass. 14in High
Tiffany 6 Arm Chandelier with Prisms. 88 Tiffany iridescent glass prisms hang from the hammered bronze fixture. The center has a 6 socket light cluster with 34 prisms around the edge and 6 scrolling arms with 9 prisms each. Prisms are 10 in. long and in excellent condition, repair to one prism. Fixture is 33 in. high x 28 in. wide.
Wooten Extra Grade 3 Hinge Cabinet Secretary. Highly carved gallery with burled panels, ebonized trim and incising. The cylinder shaped banks have inset burled panels and open on 3 ornate support hinges, The left bank with a mail slot. The banks contain numerous slots and cubbies. A drop down writing surface with birds-eye maple and ebony incising. Refinished, missing door handle, few minor surface repairs, 2 interior drawers with replaced fronts and missing rear caster. 76H x 44W x 28D
Wilkinson Yin-Yang Leaded Table Lamp 18" Wilkinson geometric leaded table lamp with green brick pattern and decorative yin-yang border. On Wilkinson base. Few minor heat cracks in the border, upper brick section shows some heat cracks and a minor horizontal separation between the first and second row.
1956 Imperial 4 door sedan, restored This car has been restored, has complete "frame-off" restoration to the paint. Motor runs good, needs a fuel filter. Transmission buttons are loose but the transmission operates fine. The interior has been left original. Some rusting to the chrome elements. Has a V-8 (354cid) Hemi Fire Power 280 horsepower engine. Came standard with electric windows and seat, tinted glass, power steering and brakes. Weighs 4571 lbs. Only 6,821 examples of this car, styled by Virgil Exner, were manufactured. 33,386 miles.
