Pricing on this bronze ...

This Deco bronze is a beauty but I think the price is crazy ... is it? It seems sculptures of this level usually are around $2k, not $6k. Do you think that's a fair price?See More

"Yes - there is no spring, just a simple hook and clasp, although it looks quite old, it's probably not old enough to be original. Could you maybe attach some images of what the hinges, clasps/hook and drawer pulls were supposed to look like?"

Sizing antique mantels, what's appropriate?

So, there are some very fine mantels out there, and I am dead set on replacing the five plain ones in my 1910 neo-classic/southern colonial cottage, but sizing them is a pain. Does anyone know of any resource about sizing mantels appropriately? I mean like shelf and mantel face width vs. chimney width, mantel vs. room size or ceiling height, etc.? Sometimes it's obvious, but sometimes not.
