"Lockable is great, the only trouble I've had with mine are the cupboard doors being difficult to open as there aren't any actual handles, I just have to use the key as the handle each time."

"Sorry I noticed I accidentally erased the rest of my post which was beneath the image I posted. I said... The piece I have is different to yours Stuart in that mine is a door wider on each end and has different carvings.  My centre two glass…"

"I guess there's a good reason why you didn't take a pic of the drawers open and the cabinet doors open so we can see inside it or a close-up of a drawer's corner construction, but I don't know what it is. Or the top, or the…"

"Very good Michael! I'm in England so it almost certainly is Dutch, I'm leaning towards it being from Amsterdam being just 19ins deep. I have no intention of letting it go, not least because I can lock it very useful with a 19mth old…"

"Not much more to add. I don't see how it could split into two parts? I also would suspect it is American with Dutch-style carving and not Dutch, assuming you are located in the US. Showing the drawer construction should help confirming your…"

Dutch carved oak sideboard

I picked up this lovely sideboard yesterday,  Dutch / Flemish by the looks of it and at a guess 1940's-50's the quality and detail of the carving is wonderful. The dimensions are 91ins x 59ins x 19ins it is in 2 parts and very heavy indeed! I would love to know more about it and other than what I paid have little idea of its value. Thanks in advance.See More

"I'm afraid that nut and hollowed bolt look like modern reproduction, an older piece would have a square nut and just look older. Still a very pretty cast lamp."

Stuart beard replied to Dawn Bowe's discussion Is this a perfume bottle? in the group Whadja Find Today
"I believe that this is a Victorian inkwell and the metal on these is generally brass, precious metal would bear hallmarks. Nymphs, Satyrs, Bacchus and the other rather debauched woodland gods were a popular theme in the late 19th century."
