they are C over IE, i saw a private collector that that had one almost like it ,different maker tho but the letters on the front are the same,and he said that it could be the familys initals...and to VICKI, i got it at a yard sale

Those markings are very blurry, but I think you have a Gorham piece. Lion, Anchor, Letter G stylized? That's it. Also looks like an industrial piece, Hotel, ship etc. Where did you find it? Where did you find George Smith?
