"Also, check Ebay 'sold' for shells and identify which ones you have. I bought one box a while back from a huge collection from a late marine biologist, all superb examples with labels. One went for 129.-a Brazillian conch."

Sea shell collection

I bought this collection of sea shells today for ten bucks. Im guessing at one point they were somebodys personal collection because of how they were bagged seperately and they do not look like what you would get if you just bought a bag of random shells. Anybody know anything about them? ive tried to do some research but haven't really gained much insight.

"I saw her search and it looks similar. But that doesn't mean it actually IS an ANCIENT Ethiopian Processional Cross as Holly suggested - just that it LOOKS like one. It may well be from Africa (one of the areas I listed) - but without a lot…"

"Just as Linda's example showed, the closest in appearance to Ryan's item is the Ethiopian Processional Cross."

"In some parts of the world hand-made is still very much being done (think central and south america, parts of asia and middle-east, africa, etc.), so that is not a reliable way to date an item, unless you know where it came from (e.g. if it was…"

"I think Linda is correct it does look like a processional cross. Do you know what it is made of ? that may help you date it although it looks hand made so it is very old."

"Ryan, I've had a thought, if you can provide an extreme closeup photo, I may be able to see what style of print was used to create the label.  This may tell you if the label is a modern day vintage replica, something akin to a short print…"
