Odd veneering on old chiffonier (dresser)

Hello everyone! I have a question for anyone who can help.  I found this old dresser made by the Northern Furniture Company of Sheboygan, WI.  I did a bit of research on it and found out that they called it a "chiffonier" in their ads.  I'm cleaning it up and discovered some od veneering down the front which I'd like to share with you. In the photos below you can see it has a decorative stip down the front with an art deco kind of flair.  I discovered that the black lines were just painted on. …See More

"Yes, it is burled walnut.  That's what made me want to take a closer look.  Then I decided to buy it.  The drawer fronts, trim, and sides all have the same wood grain and color.  I believe it is all walnut also.  The…"

"This looks like burled walnut is that right? And is the secondary wood pine or oak? I'm thinking this may be English in origin. How do the underside of the drawers feel - study like hardwood, or more lite and flimsy? I'm just guessing, but…"

Old drop front secretary. Can anyone help identify it?

Hello everyone,It's been awhile since I posted.  But things have been slow. A friend found an old drop front secretary at a storage locker auction and has asked me to help him identify it.  It definitely is old, but I have no idea just how old.  Also, the carvings are unique with small crosses punched into the wood as part of the design.  Can any of the pros here at IAO offer their expertise to help identify it? …See More
