"If you could tell me where to shop for antiques in New Orleans at all without going broke ... every dealer seems to carry only masterpieces and items 15K and above ... or junk."

Where to shop for jewelry in the French Quarter of new orleans without going broke!

Where to shop for jewels and antiques and beads in new orleans french quarter.I get asked so much lately that I thought I should join this group and start a post. It will be ongoing as I explore my new turf more and more. I recently opened my own shop in the quarter and sell new, vintage and beads but there are a ton of other places that fascinate me too. Right now is my favorite collector David on Decatur street. He is in the 1300 block down the street from me and I just can't resist stopping…See More

"In my opinion there is no better color to accompany any antique than a shade called "vintage linen". This is a very soft muted shade of yellow and it not only coordinates with antiques of any shade or color, but should also some light…"

Question regarding painting the walls and coordinating with my antiques

I have a very dark bedroom right now. I cannot get a pic to come out well enough for you to see what I am talking about but it may be a common issue. My bedroom is 12x14 and I have a simply huge four poster full canopy bed that is king size and solid darkly stained teak. It is a pan asian bed from 1976. I have purchased thru barter with a dealer friend a mahogany vanity to be delivered on May 5 and I am on the lookout for a tall vanity chest with attached press next. Here is the issue: I have…See More

So how do I show up in google search ahead of the crowd?

I know it sounds like a simple question right? Well, according to all of the seo books I have purchased the last two years it is all about meta tags and keywords. Hmmm , that doesn't work for google and I was really trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I found that I was overlooking what all of my friends were doing with their sites and that is an exchange of links. Apparently google recognizes your website by the links it finds on other peoples websites! Did you know that? I certainly… Continue

Looking to increase your traffic for your website or online store?

Having been in this business for the last ten years or so online and for about 33 years all together, I totally realize that its all about the traffic. We work really hard finding, researching, and displaying out goods only to face getting lost on the web. You can buy books everywhere on seo work and you should. They give you the in depth look you need to make things happen for you, things you must do to survive. My question was what else to do because I wanted even more traffic. The answers… Continue
