Patent Experts???

So I have a charm bracelet that could date to as late as the 40s (Pat. 1926 + 17 = 1943) that has the flags over Texas,(missing the US flag,) charms on it. The Spain flag (Castile & Leon) has a design patent number on the back. The patent dates to 1926 and is a specification for textile design. So, why would a metal charm for…See More

Calipers??

What are these? I called them calipers but suspect they can't be since there are no measuring marks on them.   The surface looks and feels like plastic but from the cross section, the layers have a fibrous look inside. The layers are riveted together at the ends.  TIA…See More

Asian painted glass repurposed as buttons

These two tiny paintings on glass appear to have been re-purposed as buttons somewhere along the way. The one with the swallow has a Scovill Co. metal shank added and the smaller black trimmed one has a nondescript metal shank added too. My button experts think they were not buttons originally. They are so well painted and decorated that I feel they must have had a real purpose:  tiles? game chips? The top one is about 3/4" long and the other is maybe an inch. Anyone?…See More

More participation

Hi everyone, I thought I would start to become a little more involved in this venue. Don't know exactly how to be more visible since I don't have a website. I do all my selling on eBay. (see me there as Wordlythings: please note the spelling it's word ly, not worldly.) Currently I sell a large range of objects, Mostly vintage and antique, some of my own and some for clients. I would like to post links to my eBay items but am not sure that's acceptable under the rules. Perhaps someone could clue… Continue
