Hi! What you have is a candlewick cutter ~ snuffer. Lisa

I, too, have just rented space in a mall and thought of the monthly theme sale - for instance all Asian, planters, color (if you have many things in a certain color), etc. I just finished pricing everything (what a job!) and will have a 20% off gran…

I totally agree with Vicki. ( I collect sugar shakers.) To keep or to sell do some research. Personally, with the market being as it is I'd keep them.

Just to add: The piece is approximately 19" tall, 18" wide and weighs approximately #8. No clips on the bottom, feet only. Perhaps a stationary table piece? The piece that is depicted running through Neptune's hand does move. A flag perhaps? Gin…

Hi Lisa, How is your business coming along? I ve been doing this all my life it seems. My moms best advice was to invest in a good library of books, you are only as smart as your library.. Even used books on glassware and collectibles are great for identifying items.

Thank you for the compliment Lisa. I have been in the business on a small scale for about 9 years now. I really enjoy all aspects of the business. I've added a lot more photos to my page today. I think this site can be a great advertising tool. If you go to my page and click on albums on the left and select 'Antiques & Collectibles for Sale', you will be able to view other photos of my booth from different angles. I just added them today. Clicking on any individual photo of the items I have for sale will give you more information on the piece. Thank you again for viewing my page and have a good day.

Hi Lisa, Welcome to Antiquing Basics 101. Some of us have been selling for a while and some are just starting out. Speaking for myself, I never go a day without learning something new about antiques and collectibles or about the business of the same. Glad you joined us and hope you will share what you have learned along the Treasure Trail with all of us. Liked your pictures by the way - especially the green ruffled bowl. Know anything about it? Just curious :)

About Me
Central California I call home but originally from Montana. Recent early civil service retired. YA!

I'm waiting for a website (AVCOSA built) which, hopefully, I'll have in the spring of 2010. In the meantime I have a booth at one of the local antique stores. A lot of work but a lot of fun too. My business name is Feather Your Nests Antiques and my email is FeatherYourNests@sbcglobal.net

I prefer researching and have accumulated a variety of many things. My favorite being glassware from the Elegant period. I more than frown upon Chinese imports and "upcycling" good glassware. Glass is part of our heritage and should be honored as such.

Looking for anything special? Drop me a note. I'm not a licensed appraiser but am always willing to help determining values.
