"Well, I'm trying something new. I've put a sign in my booth at Mill Creek Antique Mall, advertising that on Sat. July 30, from 10:30 to 2:30, I will be there in person selling vintage planters. I have a photo of a few of the…"
"Thanks for the tips Beth. I just opened a 8 ft. by 16 ft. booth in Oct. of last year, at Mill Creek Mall in Bakersfield, California. I think your tips are great, and they will help me allot to have a successful booth. I do change…"
I am new to the group and I was wondering how you are making out now at the mall. I have been full-time at a company for 20 years and on December 23 I will be resigning to sell at an antique mall about 45 minutes away in Toronto Ontario…"
"Does it have a "safedge" rim? This was developed by Libbey in the 20s. It gave the company a resurgence at the time and later with the prohibition repeal they did much better. It helped to prevent chipping and has been used ever since by…"
"Thanks Beth for the tips....i often get bored with my stuff...and have "color" days. If one week I display my red items with blue items, the next time i switch over merchandise I might pair my red items with yellow things.

Central California I call home but originally from Montana. Recent early civil service retired. YA!
I'm waiting for a website (AVCOSA built) which, hopefully, I'll have in the spring of 2010. In the meantime I have a booth at one of the local antique stores. A lot of work but a lot of fun too. My business name is Feather Your Nests Antiques and my email is FeatherYourNests@sbcglobal.net
I prefer researching and have accumulated a variety of many things. My favorite being glassware from the Elegant period. I more than frown upon Chinese imports and "upcycling" good glassware. Glass is part of our heritage and should be honored as such.
Looking for anything special? Drop me a note. I'm not a licensed appraiser but am always willing to help determining values.
Hi Lisa, How is your business coming along? I ve been doing this all my life it seems. My moms best advice was to invest in a good library of books, you are only as smart as your library.. Even used books on glassware and collectibles are great for identifying items.
Thank you for the compliment Lisa. I have been in the business on a small scale for about 9 years now. I really enjoy all aspects of the business. I've added a lot more photos to my page today. I think this site can be a great advertising tool. If you go to my page and click on albums on the left and select 'Antiques & Collectibles for Sale', you will be able to view other photos of my booth from different angles. I just added them today. Clicking on any individual photo of the items I have for sale will give you more information on the piece. Thank you again for viewing my page and have a good day.
Hi Lisa, Welcome to Antiquing Basics 101. Some of us have been selling for a while and some are just starting out. Speaking for myself, I never go a day without learning something new about antiques and collectibles or about the business of the same. Glad you joined us and hope you will share what you have learned along the Treasure Trail with all of us. Liked your pictures by the way - especially the green ruffled bowl. Know anything about it? Just curious :)
